Pistachio Mandarin Learning Centre is committed to making learning Chinese fun and motivating for kiwi kids and young adults. Courses are designed for heritage and second language learners with a focus on teaching students to communicate and engage with the language and culture using New Zealand teaching methodology. Lessons should be fun and motivating for the students and use authentic content that is relevant to everyday life.
We have a young dynamic team of teachers who are passionate about teaching Chinese. They have experience and/or knowledge of the NZ curriculum and are or have taught in a school environment. The team work together regularly to create motivating and meaningful resources and are guided by an experienced teacher with over 20 years experience in NZ schools.
Students will use a workbook to consolidate learning and engage with online and digital resources as much as possible. They will also be encouraged to sit internationally recognised exams - YCT (Youth Chinese Test) and HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) administered by the Confucius Institute, University of Auckland. Our aim is to immerse our students in a Mandarin speaking environment as much as possible, to give them the opportunities to use the language and interact and connect with others.
